Vault IV is a reflection of Tik Tok’s impact on remixing and music listening. As a musician, I was engaging Tik Tok for the first time and trying to get a feel for how music was changing as a result of viral sounds. My remix of Vibe, a song by Cookiee Kawaii, amassed over 200M streams on all platforms. From popular dances to cooking audios, the remix’s success allowed me to understand how many ways one song could be utilized by an audience on Tik Tok. In the wake of Tik Tok’s demise, it’s important to highlight that Tik Tok created the opportunity for niche music to gain traction in a way that wasn’t possible in the traditional music industry.
Vault IV (Deluxe) is the original tracks as melodies, creating a smoother, more instrument focused experience.
