When I moved back to New York after my time in LA it was a complete reset.
LA started to feel stagnant.
The label meetings were draining, the business felt off, and I found myself stuck in the same loop that made me leave New York in the first place.
I needed to build something that felt like mine again.
That’s how We Had Our Time came to life, a whole space where I could create freely across music, visuals, products, and storytelling. I wanted something that existed beyond just digital streaming.
In 2020, we began dropping our first pieces of official WHOT merch. No big campaign but just had a desire to make more tangible things. We still have a few of these Vault III limited edition cassettes and the modded Walkmans in stock for the audiophiles.

We Had Our Time also marked a big step forward visually. These were the first official music videos under WHOT, both directed by Wamoo — a New York-based visual artist I randomly met while performing in South Korea. Funny how the right people cross your path at just the right time.
