If you’ve been here since the beginning thank you. If you’re new, this is the project that has instrumentals of some of my most famous remixes.
🥀 Vault II
At this point in my journey, I had already been in LA for about two years. This era was a wild time, right when SoundCloud remixes were taking off and a lot of producers were starting to break into the mainstream. People still look back at this as the golden SoundCloud era, but for me, it was full of ups and downs. We were getting hit up by major labels and touring globally, but a lot of situations didn’t sit right. A&Rs selling dreams, friends slowly distancing themselves... It was around then that I realized what we do is a big deal, but the ego and energy that come with success can lead people to make some strange decisions.
Where it sits in Relapse
If The Vault was about stepping out into the world, Vault II was about learning to live in it. The “moving-out boxes still on the floor” have been replaced with shelves full of toys and new distractions.
The calm before the storm and everything still seems within reach. But this comfort is temporary. Beneath the glow of West Rose, Drew’s losing touch with what matters most.
